Freebie Friday: Three sets of four circus tickets! And cute elephants.

The circus is coming to town! And Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey were kind enough to give us free vouchers to give away for the Zing Zang Zoom Show.

Each winner — I’m picking three — will get four ticket-vouchers for opening night, which is 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4. Simply take the vouchers to the ticket office and exchange them for your actual tickets.

The winners also will receive these adorable mama & baby elephant stuffed animals.

Mama and babe.

To enter: Post a comment below in which you describe your favorite circus performance. I’ll draw three winners on Tuesday night and announce them next Wednesday.

FYI – There also is a pre-show that is one hour before the performance. People can go down to the arena floor and meet some of the performers.

  1. I love the acrobats. But honestly, I have never been to the circus and would love to go and take my girls. I truly believe that they need to experience the circus be fore they turn 40, like their mama!

  3. We would always go to the circus when I was younger. My mom would take my brother and I the circus parade when it would come rolling into town out in front of the fair grounds before they would set up in Barton. I used to love all the different clowns and the animal performances as a child and I like the acrobats and stunts more as an adult. Bridgette just loves the stuffed elephants. My sister in law collects elephants of all kinds and elephants always remind Bridgette of her Aunt Tina. I have so many wonderful family memories of going to the circus and I would love to carry on those memories with my family!!!

  5. When my sweet husband was growing up in Florida, the circus always came to town right before his birthday. For a long time he was told it was there just for him.

In Arkansas the circus is usually in town near my younger son’s birthday. As a matter of fact, the year he was born, I went hugely pregnant, because he was so very overdue.

It has been a while since we’ve been; that overdue baby just turned 15! I’d love to take all of my boys to the circus. thanks for the chance.

  6. My favorite part of the circus was always the cotton candy and the fiber optic wands! I was obsessed with the wands and glow sticks and can’t even remember the performers! I do remember wanting to go every year though. I still can’t go to the fair without craving the cotton candy!

  7. Well. None of my kids have ever been. seems that when it is in town we never have any money to go. I would love to have 5 tickets so my 3 little kids and my husband and me could all enjoy seeing animals perform neat tricks.

  9. The circus is a wonderful experience for kids and adults alike. I remember going to the when I was about 10 years old. I was in awe of the costumes, and the lights. The well trained preformers dazzled us with their right on cue acrobatic feats. The clowns entertained us with their slapstick comedy and witty props. Now as I am typing this I am reminded of how much fun I had while being amazed and excited throughout the entire show. I would love to experience that feeling again with my children. Thanks!

  10. I was not able to go to the circus much as a child, but I do enjoy taking my own child to the circus! I love watching her excitement at the circus, that is worth the price of admission and then some!

  11. I watched the web link and liked it. I’ve never attended one but my grandaughter did as a very young child. Seems the elephants like to spray the upfront viewers. We could have fun.

  12. Ok, so my favorite memory of the circus is actually not of the circus. We had tickets to go with my brother and my mom and dad and I was super excited about it. For some odd reason (that was never explained to me) we ended up going on the wrong night. Instead of the circus, we ended up at a horse auction. As upset as we were, my mom ended up making a fun trip out of it. We decided we had a million dollars and were there to buy horses…. How many could we buy. (can you tell she’s a math teacher?!). We never did make it to the circus, but ended up having an adventure anyway. Oh and I need those elephants for my elephant collection. They’re my favorite animal!

  17. I don’t know if this is my favorite circus memory, but it is memorable. As a teenager my dad took us to the circus in LA. He was so excited because we got really close seats. So close that the high wire act was directly overhead. I was terrified the people on bikes with those long poles were going to fall and impale me with the pole. I enjoyed the rest of the circus once I knew my life was no longer in danger.

My favorite treat at the circus is the snow cones in the clown mugs! It’s been a while since we have been to the circus so I don’t know if they even have those anymore, but I would love to go and find out!

  20. I loved the circus, took my daughter Haley as she grew up and she loved it, the tigers and elephants I think were our favorites. My grandson Landon’s birthday is the 6th of August, perfect timing and Haley had already said she is planning to take him, so free tickets would really be awesome for all of us and hubby Louis has never been. If we win the free tickets, we might even take him for his first time. LOL! got our fingers crossed we get picked!!! :))

  21. I always enjoyed seeing the animals perform. Especially the elephants. It’s amazing how such large creatures can be so majestic! I haven’t been to the circus since I was about 6, and I’m 16 currently. It would be cool to go now that I’m a bit older and can appreciate the performances.
